Wingcam III and Camera Control Box

12/01 - 1/02: After the first flight on 12/9/01, there were many details to complete and further tweaks. Given the success of the pilot side wingletcam, I decided to give the plane some balance and install yet another camera on the copilot wing! This was fabricated somewhat differently than the other side seen in previous wingcam sections. It was carved out of foam first, fiberglass lay ups performed and the entire unit then grafted on to the lower edge of the copilot winglet. The following pictures illustrate the process of grafting the wingletcam housing into position. A small control box was fabricated to control the cameras in flight. The small switch on the backcontrols application of power to camera and servo on either side. The four button switch (also salvaged from a car) controls movement of servo. The cannon plug connects to a mate hidden under panel to complete camera circuit.
